My 3 Words for 2022 And How They Motivate MeI’m a big fan of my friend Chris Brogan’s My 3 Words project.

If you’re not familiar with the process, back in 2006, Chris started his year by choosing three words to serve as a guide for the upcoming year.

Chris has shared his 3 words every year since then.

The Three Words aren’t your goals, per se, but are more values to help you enjoy the year you want to have.

As a result, I’ve been using the 3 Words practice for a few years now.

The last time I shared my 3 words publicly was during My 2018 Year in Review And How It’s Done.

Therefore, for 2022, I thought I’d share my words publicly again.

I hope that in doing so, it might inspire you to think about how you craft your year ahead!

My 3 Words for 2022

My words for 2022 are:-

Subtract

  • To give me more margin and to add to the quality of my life, I will subtract the tasks, obligations, people and items that no longer bring me joy.

Forgiveness

  • To improve my peace and wellbeing, I will forgive myself and other people for things that haven’t gone as I would have liked.

Fun

  • To increase my happiness, I will commit time to doing more things that nourish me personally and professionally.

How to use your 3 Words

I’ve learned that my words act as a guide.

As a result, any time you think you need think you need a reminder of what you’re aiming to achieve, you can review your 3 words.

For instance, I have my 3 words printed and pinned to my main work desk. The words act as a daily reminder to myself.

If you’d like to learn more about the process, then Chris Brogan gives an excellent overview on his blog.
